Spencer Olivier arrived to replace Sakari Mäkinen for the time being

Sakari Mäkinen is recovering at least a month and Akaa-Volley needed a qualified outside hitter to replace him. Luckily, Spencer Olivier (USA) had just finished the season in Puerto Rico.

• This was a good moment to make the new contract here in Finland, said Olivier when arriving in the first exercises of the team yesterday.

Before Puerto Rico, Olivier played one season in Czech. The previous experiences are all from USA, where he played for example one season with our opposite Jaylen Jasper. Their team was Orange County Stunners and the season was 2022-23.

In Puerto Rico, Olivier was awarded as MVP and the best attacker.
