Akaa-Volley will meet Projekt Warszawa in semifinals

Maybe the cold winter weather made Pamesa Teruel a bit stiff in Finland on Thursday evening ; ) Anyhow, the Spanish team took only one set in Akaa Areena while Akaa-Volley won three. Thus, Akaa will continue in the semifinals of CEV Challenge Cup by 3 – 1 (25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 25-18).

-          Pamesa’s serve was too much for our reception in the second set. We could not attack in the way we wanted, explained Olli Kunnari, Head Coach of Akaa-Volley.

Head Coach of Pamesa Teruel, Maximo Torcello confirmed that the idea was to put more effort in serves.

-          And not only the effort. We succeeded to avoid Jere Heiskanen. His reception seems to be in good condition. That gave us the possibility to fight for win.

In spite of the second set, Akaa-Volley was dominating the match clearly. Too often, Pamesa Teruel was discussing with the referee instead of putting full energy to the game.

The middle bolcker Petteri Tyynismaa was selected as the best player of the home team. His statistics was extremely good 17/+14 with four bolcks, four aces and 75% efficiency in attacks.

In Pamesa Teruel, the rewarded player was Rodriguez (10/+4). He served four out of Pamesa’s sixs aces.

Akaa-Volley will play against Projekt Warszawa in the home arena on Tuesday the 30th January and in Warsaw in the following week on Wednesday the 7th February.
